Nijmegen, The Netherlands, October 5, 2026 – Ampleon announces the ART500PE, a 500 W LDMOS RF power transistor designed for demanding industrial, scientific, medical, broadcast and non-cellular communications applications. Based on Ampleon’s Advanced Rugged Technology, the unmatched transistor combines broadband operation from 1 MHz to 250 MHz with high efficiency, excellent thermal stability and exceptional ruggedness, enabling designers to address a wide variety of RF power architectures with a single device platform.
Characterized across drain-source voltages from 30 V to 65 V and qualified up to a maximum VDS of 65 V, the ART500PE supports a broad range of RF power architectures. Its high breakdown voltage enables Class E operation up to 53 V, providing flexibility for efficient switch-mode applications.
The ART500PE delivers strong RF performance across multiple frequencies commonly used in industrial and broadcast systems. At 41 MHz and 50 V, the device delivers typical continuous-wave output power of 330 W, 27 dB gain and 80% drain efficiency. Output power can reach 500 W at 65 V, enabling compact and efficient RF generators, amplifiers and power conversion systems.
Integrated dual-sided ESD protection supports Class C operation and complete transistor switch-off. Together with its robust device construction, this helps maintain stable RF and thermal performance under demanding operating conditions.
The ART500PE is suited for a wide range of industrial, medical and communications systems, including plasma generators, MRI systems, particle accelerators, industrial heating and defrosting equipment, as well as FM radio, VHF television transmitters, non-cellular communications equipment and switch-mode power supplies.
The device is available in two mirrored pin-out variants, ART500PE1 and ART500PE2. The complementary versions simplify implementation in push-pull amplifier configurations and provide greater PCB layout flexibility. Both devices are housed in the industry-standard TO-247 package, supporting straightforward mechanical integration and efficient thermal management.
With the announced discontinuation of the MRF300AN and MRF300BN, the ART500PE provides RF equipment manufacturers with an actively supported alternative for future designs and product migration. Covering a comparable broadband frequency range and available in mirrored pin-out variants optimized for push-pull architectures, the device helps simplify migration of existing RF power platforms. Customers should complete the necessary application-level evaluation and design qualification when implementing the device in existing systems.
The ART500PE1 and ART500PE2 are available now through Ampleon's global authorized distribution network. For pricing, technical support and ordering information, customers can contact their local Ampleon sales representative or preferred distributor.
